Recent changes

SPACEWatch 6 is the current version of SPACEWatch Desktop, Server and Enterprise Editions. This is a major version update. Click a screenshot on the left to see it in action. Updating your installation

To update your SPACEWatch installation:

• Download the most recent software
• Uninstall your current installation (Settings - Add/Remove Programs)
• Run the downloaded program and follow the on-screen instructions - remember to install SPACEWatch into the same location (e.g. C:\Program Files\SPACEWatch)

System Requirements

SPACEWatch pro is a Windows application and is supported on Windows 2000, 2003 and XP. There are no special hardware requirements, however SPACEWatch pro is a database application, so for optimum performance we recommend more than minimum memory for the Windows version you are using.

For full function on Netware networks you will need a Novell Client. For full function on IBM Lotus networks you will need a Lotus Notes 5.0.2b or later client.

Change History

You can check your version by looking on the Help - About window or using Explorer to display the properties of swatch.exe and clicking on the Version tab. The table below tells you a little about recent updates to SPACEWatch. Click on the diamonds to see more detail about a particular release. If you have a licence for SPACEWatch you can download and install any minor version updates without buying a new licence - simply download the software from this site:

			ASHE-77FC52	When doing automated storage data collection with a new space database, SPACEWatch will now initialize the database structure automatically if this is necessary.
			ASHE-77FC5L	It is now possible to automate merging of SPACEWatch data files into a space database using the /M= option. The syntax is /M="data file;database connection file"
			ASHE-77FC62	Data merge into a space database can be upto 50% faster under some circumstances, due to further optimisation in data handling.
			ASHE-77FC6Y	The example custom reports included with SPACEWatch Enterprise and above have been updated to include support for MySQL.
			ASHE-78MPEL	From this build a new User Finder tool has been included. This replaces a number of discrete user-related tools and provides much greater flexibility in how you can analyze space use in a user-oriented way.
			ASHE-78MPF4	A new "zap" option has been included for scripted operation. This option lets you delete all data from the SQL space database before the current collection task is carried out. This option should be used with care!
			ASHE-78MPFR	A new "validate" option has been included to verify the SQL space database data. This option should be used when you think that the data is in an inaccurate state - e.g. following unexpected interruption to a data collection such as a network failure.
			ASHE-78MPHC	The Tree Summary refresh has been optimised to display more quickly, particularly where there are a large number of sub-directories to display.
			ASHE-793MLC	Domino Edition: mail files now include their size on disk correctly reported for the storage/server infrastructure used for the Domino Server that the mail file replica is stored on.
			ASHE-77FC6F	File owner was not being returned from files on NetWare file systems that were hidden.
