Updating your installation
To update your SPACEWatch installation:

- Uninstall your current installation (Settings - Add/Remove Programs)
- Run the downloaded program and follow the on-screen instructions - remember to install SPACEWatch into the same location (e.g. C:\Program Files\SPACEWatch)
System Requirements
SPACEWatch pro is a Windows application and is supported on Windows 2000, 2003 and XP. There are no special hardware requirements, however SPACEWatch pro is a database application, so for optimum performance we recommend more than minimum memory for the Windows version you are using.
For full function on Netware networks you will need a Novell Client. For full function on IBM Lotus networks you will need a Lotus Notes 5.0.2b or later client.

| | | ASHE-7DNMNA | Databases as well as data files can now be merged into another space database. For example you can merge data from a MySQL or SQL Server space database on the same, or a different, server into one target space database. You can mix and match databases any way you want - for example you can merge a MySQL space database into a SQL Server database. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMNE | Multi-threaded data collection can now be managed in more detail. You can set the number of threads you want between 1 and 10 to optimize use of the local resources balanced against load on your network. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMNJ | If you are caching scanned data to a SQL database you can now use this option with multi-threaded collection - so all threads will share the cache database for improved performance. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMNP | Exporting to Excel now ignores "hidden" data columns. Only those visible will be exported allowing more control over the format of data exported. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMP3 | Duplicates search now retrieves data from the space database much more quickly, giving a faster overall performance particularly when you have a very large number of duplicates. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMP7 | SSH support: you can now use the secure shell protocol for secure remote access to UNIX and linux systems directly from within SPACEWatch Enterprise, Domino and Exchange - without the need for additional software. This means you can now easily integrate UNIX and linux space data into your SPACEWatch space databases, analyses and reports. SSH v1 and v2 is supported, together with simple username/password or private key/passphrase authentication. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMPB | SQL Native Client support: if you are using the enhanced features of SQL Server 2005 in your infrastructure you can now exploit them from SPACEWatch by connecting to your SPACEWatch space database with the Microsoft SQL Native Client. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMPE | Improved scan performance on Windows systems. You can now fine tune data collection by setting any number of collection threads (maximum 10) depending on the capabilities of the system that SPACEWatch is installed on. As an option you can also use a temporary SQL database for your multi-threaded data collection. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMR4 | UNIX and linux support: As well as SSH support for remote storage analysis, we now support the following flavours of UNIX: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris; and the following flavours of linux: Fedora, Red Hat, SUSE, freeBSD | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMPJ | Database history will now be maintained for databases specified with an instance e.g. MYSERVER\SQLExpress | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMPN | Exchange Edition: MAPI_E_INVALID_OBJECT error messaging during scanning has now been addressed. This was due to an Exchange MAPI connection limit being reached under certain circumstances. Connections are now re-cycled more efficiently. | |
| | | ASHE-7DNMPT | Domino Edition: summary data about more than one system volume (if used) is now returned from the Domino server. | |
