Recent changes

SPACEWatch 6 is the current version of SPACEWatch Desktop, Server and Enterprise Editions. This is a major version update. Click a screenshot on the left to see it in action. Updating your installation

To update your SPACEWatch installation:

• Download the most recent software
• Uninstall your current installation (Settings - Add/Remove Programs)
• Run the downloaded program and follow the on-screen instructions - remember to install SPACEWatch into the same location (e.g. C:\Program Files\SPACEWatch)

System Requirements

SPACEWatch pro is a Windows application and is supported on Windows 2000, 2003 and XP. There are no special hardware requirements, however SPACEWatch pro is a database application, so for optimum performance we recommend more than minimum memory for the Windows version you are using.

For full function on Netware networks you will need a Novell Client. For full function on IBM Lotus networks you will need a Lotus Notes 5.0.2b or later client.

Change History

You can check your version by looking on the Help - About window or using Explorer to display the properties of swatch.exe and clicking on the Version tab. The table below tells you a little about recent updates to SPACEWatch. Click on the diamonds to see more detail about a particular release. If you have a licence for SPACEWatch you can download and install any minor version updates without buying a new licence - simply download the software from this site:

Version
			ASHE-6SQR5M	All editions: database maintenance (data collection and merge) events are now recorded in the Windows Applicatin Event Log.
			ASHE-6SQR6G	Enterprise, Domino and Exchange Editions: A database connection history is now maintained. You can choose previous databases that you have successfully connected to and easily switch between them.
			ASHE-6SQR7P	Enterprise, Domino and Exchange Editions: You can now filter where you search with the File Find tool to particular parts of your space database. You can also include these limits in your Virtual Folder definitions. For example, you might define a virtual folder called "Most recent excel files in Accounts" or "Largest files on server x".
			ASHE-6T4G5Y	Size on disk is now recorded for files and folders. You can see this as a new column in the File Finder, Directory Finder and Tree Summary. To display this new column use the "View" toolbar button and choose the "Size on Disk" column. "Size on disk" is the physical space taken up by a file on disk at the time the data was collected - this can vary over time depending on compression, whether or not the file has been migrated to archive storage, and any differences in characteristics of any volume it is moved to.
			ASHE-6T4G6U	File duplicates: where you search on size and date only, there may be different sub-sets of duplicates with different sizes/dates but the same filename. These are now color-coded to highlight each sub-set more easily.
