Recent changes

SPACEWatch 6 is the current version of SPACEWatch Desktop, Server and Enterprise Editions. This is a major version update. Click a screenshot on the left to see it in action. Updating your installation

To update your SPACEWatch installation:

• Download the most recent software
• Uninstall your current installation (Settings - Add/Remove Programs)
• Run the downloaded program and follow the on-screen instructions - remember to install SPACEWatch into the same location (e.g. C:\Program Files\SPACEWatch)

System Requirements

SPACEWatch pro is a Windows application and is supported on Windows 2000, 2003 and XP. There are no special hardware requirements, however SPACEWatch pro is a database application, so for optimum performance we recommend more than minimum memory for the Windows version you are using.

For full function on Netware networks you will need a Novell Client. For full function on IBM Lotus networks you will need a Lotus Notes 5.0.2b or later client.

Change History

You can check your version by looking on the Help - About window or using Explorer to display the properties of swatch.exe and clicking on the Version tab. The table below tells you a little about recent updates to SPACEWatch. Click on the diamonds to see more detail about a particular release. If you have a licence for SPACEWatch you can download and install any minor version updates without buying a new licence - simply download the software from this site:

Version
			ASHE-6YWEH7	SPACEWatch will now import data from IBM Tivoli Storage Manager - e.g. if you are using TSM for backup management, then you don't need to separately scan your systems with SPACEWatch. Note: TSM does not collect ALL of the data required by SPACEWatch, so there is some feature reduction using this approach. Contact support@sharpeware.com for more details.
			ASHE-6YWEHZ	SQL Server connections can now be established using native windows authentication, as well as database authentication. This removes the need to maintain separate user logins. Instead SPACEWatch will use the Windows credentials of the currently logged-in user.
			ASHE-6Z4HUX	Collection can now be stopped early if the process is still continuing beyond a specified date/time. This is useful e.g. if you never want a collection to impinge on a backup window.
			ASHE-6Z4HVP	MySQL support has been enhanced to take account of MySQL-specific features. This will speed up merging new data into an existing MySQL database.
			ASHE-6Z4HWM	The special folder "My Documents" ("Documents" on Vista) has now been included in the Storage Browser.
			ASHE-6YXF7H	Duplicates search: this is now much quicker and less memory hungry, which means it is much easier to display very large quantities of duplicates.
			ASHE-6Z4HW9	Some minor MySQL bugs associated with data collection have been resolved.
