SPACEWatch 6 is the current version of SPACEWatch Desktop, Server and Enterprise Editions. This is a major version update. Click a screenshot on the left to see it in action. Updating your installation

To update your SPACEWatch installation:

• Download the most recent software
• Uninstall your current installation (Settings - Add/Remove Programs)
• Run the downloaded program and follow the on-screen instructions - remember to install SPACEWatch into the same location (e.g. C:\Program Files\SPACEWatch)

System Requirements

SPACEWatch pro is a Windows application and is supported on Windows 2000, 2003 and XP. There are no special hardware requirements, however SPACEWatch pro is a database application, so for optimum performance we recommend more than minimum memory for the Windows version you are using.

For full function on Netware networks you will need a Novell Client. For full function on IBM Lotus networks you will need a Lotus Notes 5.0.2b or later client.

You can check your version by looking on the Help - About window or using Explorer to display the properties of swatch.exe and clicking on the Version tab. 			ASHE-823SFL	Three new clients: administration and automation functions have now been combined and enhanced in a new SPACEWatch Administrator application. Use it to centrally manage your SPACEWatch installation. End-user functions are now consolidated into a new SPACEWatch Client. Both will work with existing v5 space databases and data files alongside v5 clients. Also new in v6 in a SPACEWatch Designer tool, to create and maintain custom report scripts.
			ASHE-823SFZ	New user interface: built around Microsoft's latest "Fluent User Interface" design, as seen first in the Office 2007 suite. No more menus to make finding key functions difficult. Everything is consolidated into a central "ribbon bar" making use easier and quicker. All tools have also been re-designed to take advantage of this new interface, making results much easier to view and work with - including features such as the ability to filter results instantly based on given text, or group results by multiple columns.
			ASHE-823SG9	New data export options: including the 'save split' - the ability to save any grouped results split automatically into multiple Microsoft Excel workbooks or sheets.
			ASHE-823SGF	New File Finder feature called 'DataView': lets you visualize large sets of results using a multi-dimensional view to quickly discover new characteristics of your results.
			ASHE-823SGN	New file/directory features: including much-requested features such as 'send to compressed folder' and 'recreate source directory structure'.
			ASHE-823SGT	New data collection options: scan the contents of compressed folders and zip files.
			ASHE-823SGY	New 'Scenarios' tool: see the future impact of planned changes and see how much benefit they will bring to your storage.
			ASHE-823SH5	Finding Duplicates: this tool has been re-coded for improved performance and now with a user-based duplicates search feature and the ability to limit results to the top 'x' sets. "One Click" analyses added to conveniently and quickly carry out common duplicates search tasks.
			ASHE-823SHB	Directory Finder: now you can copy/move/send-to-compressed directory trees direct from the Directory Finder.
			ASHE-823SHG	Dashboard: completely re-written, and now with user-settable applet configurations to suite your infrastructure.
			ASHE-823SHP	File Types: With one click you can now 'cross-correlate' particular file types with other attributes such as file owners or duplicates. File type Groups are used in many more places throughout SPACEWatch.
			ASHE-823SJ5	New Storage TreeMap tool to analyze storage from a new perspective and spot space hogs even when they are hidden in the depths of a complex directory structure.
			ASHE-823SKC	Orders of magnitude faster data collection and updating of space databases. Exploiting new algorithms and new database optimisation techniques, space database update can now be optimised much more efficiently. Sharpeware recommend Microsoft SQL Server 2008 for the best results.
			ASHE-823SKS	Data collection: different caching and storage options can now be set on a task by task basis within the same SPACEWatch installation.
			ASHE-823SNU	Archiving: source directory structure can now be selected as a meta tag within the target path for an archiving task.
			ASHE-823SQ9	Duplicates search: optimised algorithms have been implemented to vastly improve performance on very large data sets.
			ASHE-823SR2	Quick answers and User investigation tools: now re-engineered into new SPACEWatch Client.
			ASHE-823SUA	Administrator: new Administrator client now supports remote management of SPACEWatch installations where Windows account privileges allow.
			ASHE-823SVH	Database: additional user properties are now recorded where available in the source directory system, including display name and email address.
			ASHE-82WKEL	Admin: When saving tasks that have a schedule, the credentials password (if there is one) must always be re-entered. This is a Windows security feature.
			ASHE-83YS4Q	All: Due to the constraints of Microsoft Windows Logo Certification the default location for certain shared data definitions such as database and UNIX system connection data has been moved. Depending on system configuration these connections may need to be re-defined. This is a one-time requirement.
			ASHE-823SPG	File and database history in client is now correctly ordered.
			ASHE-823SRT	Data collection: work around implemented for Microsoft driver issue when using SQL Server 64 bit implementations for space database storage.
			ASHE-823SRW	Installation and setup: Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 platforms now fully supported for installation of SPACEWatch applications on both 32 and 64-bit implementations.
			ASHE-823SUJ	Data collection: files with illegal date properties e.g. those in advance of the SPACEWatch system date will be ignored.
			ASHE-823SWJ	Data collection: memory leak in multi-threaded collection task has been resolved. All threads will now run with consistently lower average memory consumption irrespective of data collection run time.
			ASHE-82WKCH	Client: Saving data interactively to different formats from a Storage Treemap view has been fixed.
			ASHE-82WKD3	Admin: Occasionally no owner data would be recorded.
			ASHE-82WKDF	Admin: When creating a scheduled report task it was possible to loose certain settings.
